Trenten L. Tanderup

WISNER — Trenten L. Tanderup, 25, Wisner, died unexpectedly June 1, 2022, Madison.

Funeral services were June 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Amanda Talley officiating.

Burial was at the Maskell, Cemetery, Maskell.

Visitation was June 6 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and continued Tuesday, at church, one hour prior to services. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Pallbearers were Wyatt Dowling, Ryan Lunz, Chayce Hirschman, Isaac Gothier, Brandon Abts and Kordale Strivens.

Trenten Lee was born Aug. 14, 1996, in Wayne, to Eric Douglas Tanderup and Geri Lynn Schwarz. He grew up in the Dixon and Laurel area and graduated from Laurel High School in 2015. Trenten worked for Dan Hansen at the Hog Confinement in Carroll. He then worked for Great Dane Trailers, Wayne, for a couple of years. Trenten spent six months at the Dixon County Feed Yard, before working for Tyson Foods, Madison, in the maintenance department. Trenten always tried to improve himself and was a dedicated employee even if called in on a weekend or odd hours.

Trenten loved to buy and sell vehicles, tinker with his cars and being with family. He loved being in the outdoors. He was a “want-to-be” cowboy, and enjoyed his guns and assortment of pocket knives.

Trenten is survived by his parents, Eric (Tammi) Tanderup, Martinsburg; brother, Travis (Wendy) McNear, Allen, and their children, Rebecka, Carter and Stockden; sister, Shelbi (Kris) White, Kearney, and their children, Jordyn, Madelyn and William; three step-sisters, Katelynn (Coleman) Broders, Wayne, and their children Creek, Flint and Ridge; Erika (Steven) Bierman, Nashville, Tenn.; Emily (Dustin) Humphrey, Fort Calhoon, and their child, Adalynn; paternal grandmother, Maxine Tanderup, Coleridge; maternal grandparents, Tom (Linda) Steffen, Hartington; mother, Geri (Randy) Treptow, Comstock; half brother, Brody Treptow; and maternal grandfather, Larry Schwarz, Yankton, S.D.

Preceding Trenten in death were his paternal grandfather, Lowell Tanderup; maternal grandmother, Esther Schwarz; and nephew, Landen McNear.
