Transfer Station rate will change; city looks at dog run

Posted in:

HARTINGTON — Area residents will soon have to pay more to drop tires at the Transfer Station and Recycling Center.

The Hartington City Council Monday approved a new ordinance that puts a rate increase into affect at the Transfer Station.

The current ordinance does not have the rates listed. Ordinance 860 calls for a fee of $2.50 per car tire and $10 for disposal of a truck tire. Tractor tires and tires with rims are more expensive.

The ordinance does not change any other Transfer Station rates, however. A complete list of Transfer Station fees can be found at the Hartington City Office.

The Council also heard a proposal to hold a Dog and Jog event in the community in late May or early June.

Rocki Alt asked the Council if they would have any issues with Cedar County Veterinary Services putting on a Dog and Jog event through the streets of Hartington.
