Timothy John “Tim” Peitz

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Timothy John “Tim” Peitz, 64, died peacefully at his home in Oklahoma City Sept.  20, 2019, as a result of pneumonia caused by FTD.  

Viewing will be held 5-8 p.m., Sept. 26,  at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler Mortuaries,  7805 West Center Road, Omaha.  

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., at Bellevue Christian Center, 1400 Harvell Dr., Sept.  27, followed by interment at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Omaha.

Tim was born in Yankton, S.D., Sept. 1,1955, to Joseph and Sylvia (Boeckman) Peitz. He grew up in Hartington, graduating from Cedar Catholic High School in 1973.  

Later he married Susan Wohlman and they had four daughters and one son.  

Tim demonstrated his love for adventure by boating and skiing at the river with many family and friends.  He also enjoyed snow skiing in Colorado. Tim was on a bowling league for many years and enjoyed driving out to the Indianapolis 500 every year.  

Tim showed his desire to help people for many years as an EMT on the Hartington Fire and Rescue Squad.  

He worked in a partnership with his father and brothers in Joe’s Mobile Oil business. This later expanded to Peitz GMC and relocated to a new building on the highway in Hartington, which is still in business.  

In 1995, he moved to Omaha, and worked at Interstate Detroit Diesel as a sales rep.   

In 1999, he married Jane Lemon and his family grew.  

In 2004, he relocated to Oklahoma City and started up a Truck Repair.  A dream of his for many years. He was a strong man that loved his work.

Tim was known as the gentle giant and loved with his whole heart. He served the Lord through his humanitarian service in building homes in El Salvador a few times. Through out his life he was always a gifted handyman and when someone needed help he always seemed to be that guy.  

Tim is survived by his wife, Jane Peitz; children: Toni (Buckley) Hamilton, Tyler (Angie) Peitz, Jenny (Chris) Togneri, Lisa Thoene, Chris Pinkerton, Daniel Pinkerton, Sarah (Scott) Bingham, Katlyn Judd and Matthew (Shelby) Pinkerton; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Darrell (Beverly) Peitz, Mary Jean (Paul) Hagerty, Tom (Peg) Peitz, and Carla (Don) Taylor; nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Sylvia Peitz; sister, Karen (Peitz) Stunden; daughter, Kristen; and grandson, Damien Thoene.
