Throwback Thursday- Zimmer wins golf title

HARTINGTON — A trying 27-hole match played in 100-degree temperatures climaxed the Hartington City Golf Tournament, which was won by Ed Zimmer for the first time. Zimmer defeated Iver Anderson of Wausa 2-1 in 27 holes Sunday afternoon.
The match zig-zagged back and forth throughout the first 18 holes, which ended all even. Zimmer birdied the first two holes of the final round to take a two-up advantage.
The margin dropped to one when Zimmer bogeyed the par three fourth hole, but regained the margin on the par four sixth hole.
