RANDOLPH – Randolphans, along with other northeast Nebraskans, watched and wondered at the strange object high in the sky Monday evening. The object was first sighted in this territory around four o’clock traveling east, it was reported, but was noticed here by the most people between six and seven o’clock that evening.

The object, made bright by the rays of the setting sun, looked almost like a huge bubble, and it was estimated here to be about five miles high. Those who watched the object through binoculars believe it might be a weather balloon.

Osmond and Norfolk residents were also among those reporting sighting the object.
