Steffen sees action on MLB field
KANSAS CITY, Mo .— A Holy Trinity sixth grader had a unique experience at the Kansas City Royals game against the Chicago Cubs last week. Jacob Steffen, 11, was selected at random out of the crowd to participate in the “Steal A Base” game between innings. After being selected, Steffen went down on the field and walked over behind the bullpen where he spent the inning. During warmups between innings, Steffen was the star participant of the “Steal A Base” game. His goal was to run from the right field foul pole to first base, take the base from the mascot, and run back to the foul pole. “It was exciting,” said Steffen. “[I] was pretty lucky to get picked to do that out of all the other kids that were there.”
