Special Veterans’ Day activities are planned here

HARTINGTON — Special activities to honor local veterans are being planned for Veterans Day across Cedar County.

The local veterans groups plan to put up the flags by the Courthouse monument Nov. 10, weather permitting. Veterans’ Day will be celebrated here Monday, Nov. 12.

At 1:30 p.m., Nov. 12, the names of all the fallen will be read aloud at the Cedar County Veteran’s Memorial on the Courthouse grounds and a 21-gun salute will be given in their honor.

The Hartington Care and Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living is home to nine veterans’ who will be honored at a 2:15 p.m. program for residents and their guests.
