Special procession planned for First Communicants

HARTINGTON — A special procession for Corpus Christi and honoring First Communicants at Holy Trinity Catholic Church will be held on Sunday.

The procession begins at 2 p.m., in front of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

All of the First Communicants’ family vehicles will be blocking the street in front of church beginning at 12:30 p.m. They will then parade to the Msgr. Werner parking lot, before heading downtown and then back to the church.

Each of the Communicants will be riding in the open in or on their family vehicle.

Anyone can be in the procession/ parade. Area residents can also line up along Broadway, Summit or Main street to greet the Blessed Sacrament and the First Communicants.

The event begins a week filled with special events for area Catholics.

A Drive-in Mini-Auction will be held Monday June 15 to replace the Cedar County Catholic Schools’ Gala.

The 6 p.m., Drive-In Auction at the Msgr. Werner Activity Center parking lot will kick-off the Silent Auction Open House for the following three evenings, June 16, 17 and 18, from 4-7 p.m.

On Monday, Silent Auction bidders can place bids before, during and after the Live Auction that consists of 50 items. The Drive-In Auction will be a fun evening with courtesy snacks and water delivered by “carhops.”

Final bids on the approximately 650 Silent Auction gifts must be in no later than 7 p.m., Thursday. Gala ticket holders must check-in
