Senior Center celebrates golden anniversary

HARTINGTON — The Hartington Senior Citizen Center marked a milestone moment with a special event Sunday.

The facility, which has been located at 112 West Main St. since 1984, held a special meal and open house celebration Sunday.

After being a place where senior citizens – and even some pre-registry kind – can meet for social activities, games and a meal – Sunday was a chance to finally give thanks to the Center and all it has done for half a century.

Established in 1969, the Center provides attendees with various activities including cards and bingo, meals, handicrafts and the occasional tour.

It also provides Meals on Wheels.

It is open weekdays with meals being provided on site, which caters to those 60-and-older.
