Sandy Trobaugh

SOUTH SIOUX CITY — Sandy Trobaugh, 55, South Sioux City, formerly of Hartington, died March 23, 2022, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa, due to complications of MS.

Mass of Christian Burial was March 29 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating.

Burial of her cremated remains will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, at a later date.

Visitation was one hour prior to services at church.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Sandra Kay was born March 18, 1967, in Yankton, S.D., to Larry Dean and Kathy R. (Becker) Lauer. She grew up in Hartington and attended school there until the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa, in 1972. Sandy graduated from Heelan High School. After high school, Sandy began working for MCI in Sioux City as a telemarketer. Sandy stopped working about 10 years ago when she found out she had MS.

Sandy is survived by her three children, Michael Trobaugh (Heather McCoy), Omaha; Daniel (Candace) Trobaugh, Hartington; Amanda (Miguel) Salazar, Sioux City, Iowa; three grandchildren, Koy, Bowen and Knox Trobaugh, and one on the way; parents, Larry (Kathy) Lauer, Hartington; sister, Anne Sullivan (Marcus Tiebbe), Sioux City, Iowa; a brother, Steven Lauer, Hartington; and nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Lauer, and a sister, Patricia Gaul.
