Ruth L. Cook

OMAHA — Ruth L. Cook, 83, died May 31, 2019, in Omaha.  

She is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha.

Ruth was born Jan. 27, 1936, in Ord, to Jane (Hastings) and James B. Ollis, Sr.  She lived in Laurel 1960-1970, when her husband, Rev. J. Keith Cook, was pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, Laurel, and the Union Presbyterian Church, Belden.  Their three sons, Andrew, Paul and Todd, were born during their Laurel/ Belden years.  They and Keith all survive her, as do her nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of Omaha.  Ruth was a superb pianist.  She was a church pianist/organist beginning at age 14; retiring from that ministry less than two years ago.  She was also a high school guidance counselor.
