Relay For Life set for Sunday

HARTINGTON — Hartington will play host Sunday to the annual Relay for Life event.

This year’s annual fund- raiser for the ght against Cancer will run from 3-7 p.m at the Hartington-Newcastle Public School gym.

Organizers say .79 cents out of every dollar raised is currently going
toward the American Cancer Society’s mission
to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the ght for a world without cancer.

The celebration begins with a silent auction and survivor registration at 2:30 p.m.

The opening ceremony starts at 3 p.m. with Pastor Russ Lambert of the Coleridge Immanuel Lutheran Church giving the invocation,

Cedar Catholic High School students will help get things started by singing the National Anthem.

Next up, the Heroes of Hope will speak, and introduce the survivors to begin the survivor lap. A caretaker lap will follow and the introduction of the teams and committee members.

Activities begin at 4 p.m.

Cedar County 4-H kids will be assembling chemo bags.

Two people will also be donating hair for wigs. Themed laps are also part of this year’s program.

A relay poker event has also been planned.
