Porter Thomas Noecker
HARTINGTON — Porter Thomas Noecker, 6-year-old son of Jesse and Marie Noecker, rural Hartington, died as a result of a farm accident Sept. 11, 2021.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Sept. 15, at 3 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating.
Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington.
Visitation and a Vigil service were Tuesday, at church, and will continue Wednesday, one hour prior to services at church.
Pallbearers will be Beau Noecker, Riley Noecker, Tristan Sedlacek, Patrick Hoesing, Joe Noecker and Todd Bottolfsen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Porter’s Kindergarten classmates.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Porter Thomas was born Aug. 27, 2015, at Yankton, S.D., to Jesse Adam and Marie Ellis (Klein) Noecker. He was currently in Kindergarten at Holy Trinity Elementary School, Hartington. Porter was his dad’s right hand man on the farm, as he loved to work and stay busy outside. Porter was a great “big” brother to Easton, age 3, and he always looked up to his older brother, Nolan, age 9. He was very particular with his appearance and his clothes. He was very artistic and had a great smile, along with that special smirk for his grandmothers. Porter loved animals and always wanted to keep any new found animal as a pet. He enjoyed the bird feeder and watching the birds. Porter just went to his first Nebraska Husker Football game last week and really liked the marching band along with powering down a lot of popcorn. He loved his cat “Roco,” camping, and his new bike. He liked to wrestle and was a little daredevil.
Porter is survived by his parents, Jesse and Marie, Hartington; two brothers, Nolan and Easton; maternal grandparents, Julie and Larry Weigum, Hartington; paternal grandparents, Dave and Shelly Noecker, Hartington; great-grandparents, Larry and JoAnn Driver, Wynot; great-grandfather, Tom Klein, Crete; aunts and uncles, Kristen Heimann, Omaha; Beau Noecker, Omaha; Riley Noecker, Omaha; Reggan Noecker and Tristan Sedlacek, Scotland, S.D.; and great-aunt and uncle, Becky (James) Hunke, Crete, and their boys, Adam, Isaac and Nathaniel.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Morgan Klein; maternal grandfather, David Klein; great-grandmother, Judy Klein; maternal great-grandparents, Corrine and Carl Weihe; paternal great-grandparents, Loran and MaryLou Noecker.
