Ponca surprises Wynot boys

PONCA — The Wynot Blue Devils found it tough sledding at Ponca Thursday as the Indians dominated play and held the Devils to single digit scoring in all four quarters as they rolled to a 46-28 win.

The Indians season record went to 9-7 with the win while Wynot picked up only their third loss of the season.

Dylan Heine was the one bright spot for the visiting Blue Devils with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Ponca got a balanced attack led by Dalton Lamprecht with 18 points and Brody Taylor who finished with 11 points for the game. Cole Jackson worked the offensive glass for eight points as well.

Dylan Heine hit for five points early. Ponca went on a 14-9 run in the opening quarter lead by 6 points from Dalton Lamprecht and a pair of buckets by Mickenon Peterson as the Indian held an early 14-9 lead.

The Blue Devil guns went silent in the second quarter as they were held to a single field goal by Dylan Heine and some free throws. Meanwhile Dalton Lamprecht collected all 10 of the Indians points to give them a 24- 13 lead at intermission.

The two teams traded baskets in the third quarter. Wynot was led by five points from Dylan Heine with Ponca getting six points from Cole Jackson And a trey by Tucker McGill to keep the lead at 34-22.

Ponca went to their delay game in the fourth quarter.

Dylan Heine hit his third trey of the game and Zack Foxhoven drove the hoop for a basket. But the Indians are a veteran team and they got four points from Brady Taylor and a pair of baskets and a couple of free throws as they maintained the lead and earned the 46-29 win.
