Pen pals tied the knot nearly 70 years ago

COLERIDGE — Elroy and Carol Hefner are quickly coming close to celebrating 70 years of making memories as husband and wife.
Both Elroy and Carol are Coleridge natives, proudly graduating from the Coleridge High School. Elroy graduated in 1941, while Carol was a few years behind in 1946.
In addition to being Coleridge natives, they have been lifelong members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in town.
