Patricia Ann Truby

Omaha — Patricia Ann Truby, 64, Omaha, died Nov. 30, 2020, at Maple Crest Care Center, Omaha.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Patricia “Pat” was born to LaVern J. and Ruth Ellen (Collier) Truby Dec. 24, 1955, in Osmond. Pat attended Randolph Public Schools and graduated in 1974. She graduated from the University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, Ark., in 1981.

Pat was an avid reader, loved to sing, and often had her hands in bread dough, once winning a $500 baking contest for a bread recipe she created. Pat worked in various capacities as a caretaker for elderly and developmentally challenged individuals, as well as volunteer work in the Catholic Church. Those who knew her were impacted by her unrelenting determination to live fully in the face of great difficulties after having survived two traumatic head injuries.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Ellen Truby, Randolph; sisters, Mary (Eddie) Smith, Miles City, Mont.; Sylvia (James) Johnson, Omaha; Nancy (Jim) Travnicek, Randolph; sister-in-law, Laura Truby, Oregon City, Ore.; nine nieces and nephews, and 12 great-nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, LaVern Truby, in 2015, and her brother, Thomas Truby, 2020.
