COLERIDGE — Orlyn N. Frerichs, 93, Coleridge, died Oct. 25, 2019, at Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge.

A Memorial Service was held Oct. 29 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with Rev. Russell Lambert officiating.

Burial of his cremated remains was in Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Coleridge.

Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge.

Orlyn Frerichs was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Coleridge, to Edward and Anna (Bohlken) Frerichs. He graduated from Coleridge High School in 1943. Orlyn married Doris Marie West Sept. 7, 1947, in Hartington. He farmed in the community of Coleridge and was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he loved singing and serving on various committees.

After their retirement, he and Doris moved to town where they enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He enjoyed any type of sport, especially baseball, being a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved following all school activities of his children and grandchildren. His passion was spending time with his grandchildren on the farm and especially having them ride on the tractor with him. His quick-witted sense of humor was enjoyed by his family and others, and has been passed on to his children.

Survivors include six children, Connie (David) Hallahan, Loveland, Colo.; Karla (Dennis) Vigil, Creighton; Craig (Susan) Frerichs, Eagle; Kevin (Kandy) Frerichs, Wayne; Kandy (Roger) Domina Rocky Mount, N.C.; Karil (Mike Adams) Evans Hartington; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Orlyn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Doris, in 2016; a grandson, Mark Evans; brother, Myron Frerichs; and sister, Harriet Feese.
