New COVID-19 case found in Cedar County

WAYNE — Cedar County has a new coronavirus case this week, Northeast Nebraska Public Health officials reported Wednesday.

Cedar County now has 21 cases of COVID-19.

The health department does not pinpoint which community a patient lives in, or where that person may have contracted the disease.

The four-county health district now has a total of 321 cases reported here since the pandemic first reached this area in March.

Of those 321, NEPHD records show that 250 people have recovered from the disease. Eight people in the four-county area have died from the disease to date.

Thurston County leads the region with 206 COVID-19 cases. Dixon County is next with 58 cases, while Wayne County has 36.

The NENPHD has administered 2866 COVID tests to date.
