Myrtle C. Forsberg

YORK — Myrtle C. Forsberg, 99, York, died March 2, 2022, in York.

Funeral services were March 6 at Holthus Convention Center, York.

Visitation was one hour prior to services, with Roy Williams, Anita Forsberg, Martha Cuellar and Sarah Alink officiating.

Graveside services were March 7 in the Laurel Cemetery.

Myrtle was born Sept. 19,1922, in Laurel, to Emil and Gertrude (Peterson) Forsberg.

She received her education in the country school at Laurel. Later, she got her LPN degree in Grand Island, and soon after moved to Columbus, and worked in a care home for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, helping the homeless and spending time with her friends. She resided in Columbus until 2016. She loved to tell the story when the gospel came to her family and enjoyed hosting a fellowship meeting in her home in Columbus. Because of failing health in 2016, she moved to York to be near her niece, Brenda and Duane Grotz. She resided at Mahoney House until 2020, then she needed more assistance and moved to Hearthstone.

Myrtle is survived by her sisters-in-law, Bernice (Forsberg) Kracht, Estherville, Iowa, and Eline Forsberg, Rochester, Minn.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David (Louise), her twin, Melvin, and Harold.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
