Morten sets new scoring standard

HARTINGTON — One year and three days.
That is how long Willa Scoville’s school record of 30 points in a single basketball game at Hartington-Newcastle stood.
Scoville’s record did not even last until her graduation, with her teammate Abbe Morten surpassing it Tuesday against Osmond.
Morten’s 32 points is a new Hartington-Newcastle record, and she did it a bit differently than Scoville, against Walthill Dec. 15, 2017.
