More info released on Knox County COVID-19 case

CENTER — A Knox County man in his 30s has been confirmed as Nebraska's 23rd case of coronavirus. He had traveled to another state where community spread of COVID-19 has been reported, the North Central District Health Department announced Tuesday afternoon, adding that he is self-isolating at home.

This marks the second diagnosed case in Knox County. The first case was a Crofton High School student who was taken to the Biocontainment Unit in Omaha. He has since been released from the hospital.

On Wednesday, March 18, the North Central Health Department released more information about a second Knox County resident diagnosed with coronavirus.

At this time, the only known community exposure times related to the case are the following:

• Saturday, March 14 from 1-4 p.m. - Dollar General in Hooper, Neb.

• Sunday, March 15 from 9:30-11:20 a.m. - Country Market, Bloomfield

Monday, March 16 from 2- 3 p.m. - Walmart at Norfolk.

Monday, March 16 from 3-3:30 p.m. - Sonic Drive-in, Norfolk.

North Central Health Dept. officials said at this time general risk to the community remains low, however, those people that might have been at these locations during these times should self-monitor and be mindful of any fever, coughing, or shortness of breath any time through March 29.
