GRETNA — Mike Goeden, 63, Gretna, died Oct. 30, 2020 at his home in Gretna.

Graveside services will be held May 29, at 10 a.m., at the St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington, with Pastor Ray Lail officiating. There will be a gathering afterwards at the

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Mike was born May 11, 1957, in Yankton, S.D., to Kenny and JoAnn Goeden. He was raised on the farm and attended Bloomfield High School. He attended technical school and became a field service engineer for Topcon Medical Laser Systems.

He loved being outdoors, doing lawn work, gardening, and working on his flowers. He loved so many sports; basketball, baseball, golf, volleyball, soccer, paddleball and most of all fishing. He always had the neighborhood kids over on his driveway playing something they enjoyed, while pouring his heart into them. He was an avid Christian and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He attended Relevant Community Church, Gretna. Mike is survived by his daughter, Jerika (Dave) Perkin, Lincoln;

Mike is survived by his daughter, Jerika (Dave) Perkin, Lincoln; his son, Wesley (Melissa) Goeden, Panama Beach, Fla.; sisters, Pam Hagge, Rapid City, S.D.; Cindy (Steve) Weiland, Yankton, S.D.; Tina (Joe) Mueller, Yankton, S.D.; brothers, Joe (Melissa) Goeden, Waterloo; Ray (Brenda) Goeden, Dallas Center, Iowa; and Tony Goeden, Wausa; and six grandchildren, 14 nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.

Mike was an amazing example to us all. He had a loving compassionate heart and soul and is missed terribly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and JoAnn Goeden; sister-in-law, Stacey Goeden; and nephew, Kyle Mueller.
