Mataya Loren Stewart

PHOENIX, Ariz.— A memorial service for Mataya Loren Stewart, 20, was held March 29, at Messinger Mortuary, Scottsdale, Ariz. Fr. William Fitzgerald officiated.

Mataya died March 24, 2019, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Mataya was born Sept. 9, 1998, to Ozzie Stewart and Mayvonne (Isom) Stewart in Phoenix, Ariz. Mataya graduated from Gilbert Public High School in 2017.

She loved to dance and proudly performed in ColorGuard and ColorGuard Gold, even traveling with her team to London, England. She was a talented artist and loved

sunflowers and daisies. She also loved the arts, theater and ballet.

Mataya enjoyed traveling to the beaches of California, Mexico, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. She attended NAU in Flagstaff, Ariz.

She also loved camping, family vacations and hiking. Being in the outdoors and spending time with family was special.

Mataya was an incredible, special person and loved by so many, her loss will leave a huge hole in the hearts of so many.

Mataya is survived by her parents Ozzie and Mayvonne (Isom) Stewart, Gilbert, Ariz.; one brother, DeVaughn, Gilbert, Ariz.; her grandparents, Rita (Burbach) Isom, Randolph, and Eunice (Haynes) Haywood, Omaha; 10 aunts and uncles, Jolene Isom, Gilbert, Ariz.; Janet Isom, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Kelly and Peggy (Buss) Isom, Randolph; Rodney and Joni (McDonald) Isom, Page; Loren and Bonnie (Allen) Isom, Lincoln; Bradley and Corrin Isom, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Willie Stewart, Omaha; Mike and Linda Stewart, Chandler, Ariz.; Shakur Abdullah, Omaha; Mary Stewart, Omaha; and April Lee, Phoenix, Ariz.; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Roley Isom and William Stewart; and one brother, Tyler, in infancy.
