Mary Leila (Miller) (Rohde) Halley

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — Services for Mary Leila (Miller) (Rohde) Halley, 71, Arlington Heights, Ill., was Sept. 10, 2020 at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Niles, Ill. Father Ryan, St. James Parish, Arlington Heights, officiated.

Additional Memorial visitation will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall, Laurel, from 2-4 p.m., Nov. 20.

Internment following at the Laurel Cemetery.

Mary died Sept. 3, 2020, at her home in Arlington Heights, following a short illness with Stage 4, Pancreatic Cancer.

Mary Leila (Miller) Halley was born June 15, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Floyd and Dona (Holm) Miller. She attended school in Belden and Coleridge, graduating from Coleridge Community High School in 1967. After high school, Mary graduated from Stewart School of Cosmetology, Sioux City. She had a rewarding career of 50 years as a hair stylist, and she loved to bring out the beauty in others. Mary married Gary Rohde April 1969, in Sioux City, and they moved to Niles, Ill., in July 1971. Their daughter, Teri Lynn, was born in 1969 and their son, Scott Raymond, was born in 1972. Mary later married Dan Halley July 2012.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dan Halley, Arlington Heights; her daughter, Teri (Jim) Blake, Vernon Hills, Ill.; her son, Scott Rohde (fiancée, Cass Breeden), Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren and surviving step children are, Dan (Mary) Halley, Lake in the Hills, Ill.; David (Jill) Halley, Vernon Hills, Ill.; Linda (Dan) Vierneisel, Mt. Prospect, Ill.; seven step grandchildren; and her siblings, David (Robin) Miller, Bradenton, Fla.; Sharon (Dan) Gildersleeve, Hartington; Lois Voge, Galva, Iowa; Jim (Jan) Miller, Belden; and Timothy Miller (Marcus Miner), Las Cruces, N.M.; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Dona Miller, and her brother-in-law, Paul Voge.
