HARTINGTON — Marjorie Maxine Guy, 92, Hartington, died Nov. 3, 2018, at the Hartington Rehabilitation and Care Center, Hartington. Visitation and a Prayer Service were Tuesday at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and will begin at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington. Funeral Services will be Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with Rev. Amanda Talley officiating. Burial will be in the Hartington City Cemetery Pallbearers are Bryan Guy, Brett Guy, Louis Guy, Martin Brandl, Bob Hamilton and Jesse Ricchio. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Majorie Maxine Vogle Guy was born Feb. 3, 1926, north of Obert, to Pat Wendell and Augusta Marie (Miller) Vogle. She was baptized April 11, 1926, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Obert. She graduated from Hartington High School in 1944. She received her teaching certificate at Wayne State College, then taught school for two and a half years until her marriage to Ray E. Guy May 9, 1948, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Wynot. After their marriage, they lived on a farm southwest of Harington until 1987, when they moved into Harington. They joined Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, and were lifelong members. She was a farm wife and mother of four children, Dora Ann, Maxine, Pat and Alice. She was active in Church, Church Circle, taught Sunday School; was active in Social Circle Club, the Senior Citizen Center, Historical Society, the Hartington Public School Foundations and attended many sporting events to support her children, grand and great-grandchildren. She loved her sports. She also liked to garden, canning fruits and vegetables and saving the trees. Most of all she loved family time together. She is survived by children, Dora Ann Lawrenz, Omaha; Maxine Guy, Omaha; Pat (Patti Clausen) Guy, Hartington; and Alice Brandl, Coleridge; grandchildren Melissa Lawrenz Cruz, Stephanie Guy (Robert) Hamilton, Jaclyn Guy (Jesse) Ricchio, Bryan (Stephanie Wright) Guy, Brett (Raven Rohan) Guy and Martin Brandl; greatgrandchildren, Bradyn, Taydan, Taylor, Kyler and Justice Cruz; Colby, Brody and Carli Hamilton; Jackson, Anderson (Andy), Madison (Maddie) and Tyson Ricchio; Kathryn (Katie), Avery, Emily and Daisy Guy; great-great-grandchild, Landon Cruz Lavender; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Vogle; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray, in 2003; son-in-law, James Brandl, in 2001; brothers, Norman Vogle, in 2009, and Wayne Vogle, in 2018; and sister, Audrey Vogle Roth, in 2004; brother-in-law, Alvin Roth, in 2009; and sister-in-law, Gloria (Brammer) Vogle, in 2017; Vernon Guy, in 2008; Ilith (Flom) Guy, in 1999; Harold Guy, in 2014; and Teresa (Lammers) Guy, in 1992; niece, LaDowna Roth, in 1991; and nephew, Deown Roth, in 2002.
