Marjorie Alyce Novak

HARTINGTON — Marjorie Alyce Novak, 82, Hartington, died in an automobile accident Dec. 25, 2018, on Highway 81 two and one half miles north of Highway 12.

Visitation was one hour prior to services Saturday.

Funeral Services were Dec. 29 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, with Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Hooper, Nebraska at a later date

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Oakland, to Walter H. and Bertha J. (Schroeder) VonEssen. She grew up in Oakland, graduating from Oakland High School. She married Glenn Meyer and to this union Cindy and Michael were born. She married Adrian Novak and to this union Mitchel was born. Throughout her life she was a caregiver for several people in various cities in Iowa, Nebraska and Camdenton, Mo. She has lived in Hartington since 2007.

Marjorie loved meeting her friends in Yankton for breakfast. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, home decorating and cooking. She loved being with people and especially enjoyed time with family and her grandkids.

Marjorie is survived by three children, Cindy and Rod Wiebelhaus, Fordyce; Michael and Chomphu Meyer, Thailand; and Mitchel and Marti Novak, Glendale, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Wendy Pearson, April and James Pearson, Holly and Komsu Mamuya, Brooke and Ben Hochstein, and Marshall Wiebelhaus; 11 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Rogers, Joey and Rachel Dallman, Corey and Stephanie Dallman and Seth and Michelle Dallman; nine step great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine Pfeiffer, Morris Bluffs, and Lois Von Seggern, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lloyd and Warren VonEssen.
