Marilyn Kay Sage

CROFTON — Marilyn Kay Sage, 63, Crofton, died July 19, 2018, at her residence. Visitation and a Prayer Service were Sunday at the Wintz Funeral Home, Crofton, and continued Monday at the church. Funeral Services were July 23 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lindy, with the Rev. Tom Jacobson officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date in the Bloomfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Sage, Dustin Sage, Steven Sage, Joel Tramp, Karl Barfuss and James Krier. Marilyn was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Hurley, S.D., to Arnold Eli and Clara Margaret (Deelstra) Wollman. She grew up on a farm near Hurley and graduated from Hurley High School in 1973. Marilyn married Jim Sage Sept. 6, 1986, in Lincoln. They made their home on a farm northwest of Crofton, where Marilyn did all the farrowing of the pigs and bottle fed the calves. They moved into Crofton in 2005. She received an associate degree in medical coding and transcription at Southeast Technical School, Sioux Falls, S.D., in 2002. She then worked in the medical record department at the Sanford Hospital, Vermillion, S.D., for 11 years. Marilyn was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and loved being with her family and grandkids. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jim Sage, Crofton; six children and their spouses, Ed and Tina Sage, Crofton; Lanna and Joel Tramp, Yankton, S.D.; Dustin and Amber Lee Sage, Pilger; Amanda and Karl Barfuss, Norfolk; Rachel and James Krier, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Steven Sage, Wayne; 13 grandchildren; her mother, Clara Wollman, Sioux Falls, S.D.; two sisters, Debra and Lee Washington, Sioux Falls, S.D.and Judy and Dean Sturzenbecher, Parker, S.D.; a brother, Al and Gail Deelstra, Sioux Falls, S.D.; a brother-in-law, John Bajelan, Kearney; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Wollman, and a sister, Paula Bajelan.
