Marcella Ann “Marcy” Bonertz

SWANTON — Marcella Ann “Marcy” Bonertz, 65, Swanton, died July 13, 2019, at the Crete Area Medical Center.

Marcy was born July 25, 1953, in Fordyce, to Steve and Margaret (Schieffer) Wuebben. Marcy grew up on a dairy farm near Fordyce and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School. She married Gerald “Yogi” Bonertz Sept. 22, 1984, in Fordyce. After marrying Yogi, Marcy stayed home to take care of the kids and then went to work for a day care in DeWitt. Marcy finished out her career as a secretary for Blue Valley Behavioral Health.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Wilber.

She will be remembered as one of a kind and for her strong love for her grandchildren. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with Yogi, cross stitching, playing cards, cooking, canning, gardening, flowers and talking with the neighbors.

Survivors include her loving husband, Gerald “Yogi” Bonertz, Swanton; son, Cody (April) Bonertz, Papillion; two daughters, Jodie (Keith) Green, Blair, and Stacy (Curtis) Varouh, Omaha; special dog, Matty; three grandchildren, Barrett Bonertz, Evelyn Varouh, and Lila Green; two sisters, Darlene (Dale) Svacina and DelRae (Phil) Hilfiker; brother, Robert (Linda) Wuebben; six sisters-inlaw, Pat Wuebben, Sandy Uhing, Charlotte (Jerome) Pinkelman, Deb (Kenny) Richards, Donna (Duane) Bruening, and Jean (Ellis) Nelson; two brothers-in-law, Church (Sharon) Bonertz and Dave Bonertz; and numerous other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Margaret Wuebben; daughter, Kelly Sue; brother, Francis Wuebben; brotherin-law, Andrew Uhing; dear friends, Evelyn and Harold Rahe.
