Marcella A. “Sally” Burbach

MINNESOTA - Marcella A. “Sally” Burbach, 81, Hartington, died March 3, 2021, while living in Minnesota.

Marcella was cremated and no funeral services will be held as per Marcella’s wishes.

Visitation will be March 12, at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, from 4-6 p.m., with a vigil service at 5 p.m. The Burbach family will be present from 4-6 p.m.

Honorary her six grandchildren, Amanda, Katie, Christopher, Nicholas, Sarah and Nathan; and one great-grandchild, Noah.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Marcella was born Sept. 23, 1939, in Hartington, to Raymond and Margaret Barnes, and grew up on a farm southeast of Hartington. She graduated from Hartington Public High School in 1957. Upon graduation, Marcella worked for many years for attorneys Phil Robinson, Paul Robinson and Max Goetz before starting her own business, Burbach Abstract and Title. Marcella ran her own company for 20 years before retiring in April 2011.

Marcella enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with family.

She married Eugene Burbach April 29, 1961, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, and lived her entire life in Hartington before moving to the Twin Cities this past year.

Marcella is survived by her three children, Mark Burbach and special friend, Patti Boehner, Lincoln; Brian (Susan) Burbach, Stillwater, Minn.; Lisa (Dave) Lokhorst, Sioux Center, Iowa; six grandchildren, Amanda, Minneapolis, Minn.; Katie, Omaha; Christopher and Nicholas, Lincoln; Sarah, Moville, Iowa; and Nathan, Indianola, Iowa; one great-grandchild, Noah, Moville, Iowa; one sister, Mary Kramer, Norfolk; and one brother, Paul Barnes, Macon, Mo.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 2015; her parents, Raymond and Margaret Barnes; son, Steven; one brother, Gary; and two sisters, Rita and Betty.
