Luella Frieda D. Bose

LAUREL — Luella Frieda D. Bose, Laurel, passed away Dec. 8, 2021, at Hillcrest Care Center, Laurel, at the age of 101 years, 10 months and eight days.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Dec. 16, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Concord, with the Rev. William Bertrand officiating.

Burial will be at St. Paul Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Bose, Jon Benjamin, Matthew Sutton, Andy Bose, Ron Mattes and Ron Dunaway. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Sutton,

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Sutton, Tasha Jeffries, Michele Dew, Katie Bose and Kayla Bose.

Visitation will be Dec. 15, from 5-7 p.m., at the Wintz Funeral Home, Laurel, and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday.

Luella was born Feb. 1, 1920, to Fred and Emma (Lilji) Wolter at Dixon. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Laurel. Luella attended school and graduated from Dixon High School in 1937. She married Paul Bose April 28, 1940, and they celebrated 70 years together. They farmed in the Concord/Wayne area and raised five children. In 1985, they retired and moved into Laurel.

Luella was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Concord, and a member of the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of Merry Homemakers Club for many years.

Luella took great joy in visits with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members and friends. Luella was a devoted wife and mother. As a grandmother she showed patience, love and kindness. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always made her smile. She loved cooking family dinners and the grandchildren will always remember her cinnamon rolls, macaroni and cheese, and her apple pie. She embroidered and quilted over 50 quilts for her children and grandchildren to enjoy and treasure. She loved gardening and canning in her younger years, and also had a great love for her roses. In later years, she became an avid reader and enjoyed word search books.

Surviving are her loving and grateful children, Marlyce Benjamin, Lincoln; Joyce and son-in-law, Dennis Sutton, Garner, N.C.; Marlin and daughter-in-law, Mary Bose, Dixon; Jim and daughter-in-law, Debbie Bose, Bellevue; nine grandchildren, Jon Benjamin, Lincoln; Tasha and Donnie Jeffries, Joplin, Mo.; Steven and Janelle Sutton, Philadelphia, Pa.; Michele and Eric Dew, Saratoga, Wyo.; Matthew and Jenny Sutton, Oconomowoc, Wis.; Andy and Julie Bose, Wayne; Katie Bose, Dixon; Aaron and Kristi Bose, Louisville; and Kayla Bose, Omaha; 20 greatgrandchildren, Stella Hofer; Camden Jeffries; Olivia Luella, Liam, and Emmeline Sutton; Preston, Jenna, Ashton, Teegan and Jaxson Dew; Alexander and Mia Sutton; Evan, Emilia and Abigail Bose; Henry Bose, Ava Bose, Callina Bose, Lillian Starkey and Phoenix Cunningham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2010; her daughter, Janice, in 1999; son-in-law, Don Benjamin, in 2006; two brothers, Lloyd Wolter, William (Vera) Wolter; and sisters, Margret Wolter, Elinor (Orville) Goodwin, Iola (Jim) Geiger and Deloris (Russel) Nissen.
