HARTINGTON — Lori Marie Burton, 62, Hartington, died March 7, 2019, at her residence, as a result of a house fire.

A visitation gathering of family and friends will begin at 6 p.m. until service time Friday evening.

A Memorial Service will be held March 15, at 7 p.m., at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Burial of her cremated remains will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Coleridge, next to her parents.

Lori Marie Burton was born Oct. 21, 1956, in Yankton, S.D., to Lorton Lyle and Lorine Coletta (Menke) Burton. She grew up south of Hartington and graduated from Randolph High School in 1974. Lori then attended Northeast Community College, Norfolk. Her mother Lorine died May 22, 2001, at the age of 79. Her father Lorton died Aug. 2, 2005, at the age of 89. Lori continued to live on the farm where she had the same love as her father for the “Ranching” way of life. Lori loved watching over her farm.

She enjoyed crafting and especially knitting and crocheting. She loved having outings for lunch and shopping and was very thankful for those that would help her in her time of need. Lori found great support by concerned friends and neighbors after the death of her parents. She enjoyed giving gifts for all occasions and giving Halloween treats to the neighbor’s children, and loved attending her class reunions at Randolph. Her faithful and fearless companion was her dog Rocky.

Lori is survived by cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorton and Lorine Burton, and several aunts and uncles.
