Loretta J. “Jeannie” Fourtner

NORTH PLATTE — Loretta J. “Jeannie” Fourtner, 76, North Platte, died Oct. 24, 2021, at Great Plains Health.

A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m., Oct. 29, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Vidya Sagar Arikotla officiating.

Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery.

Visitation will be Oct. 28, from 1-7 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m., at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Jeannie was born Feb. 8, 1945, in Hastings, and was raised by her mother and father, Vesta (Bacon) Beig and Robert “Bob” Beig. She grew up in Hartington, graduating in 1963 from Hartington High School, and later attending business school in Yankton, S.D. She was married in 1964 to Harold Lammers in Fordyce. Following Harold’s passing in 2000, she married Rich Fourtner in 2007.

Jeannie enjoyed collecting chickens, vases and barns, and loved flowers.

Jeannie is survived by her second husband, Rich; children, Thomas H. Lammers (Susan), Tilden; Theresa J. Kramer, North Platte; and Todd H.D. Lammers (Shanna), Elgin; grandchildren, Martin, Myles, Mason, Jael, Ryker and Jace Lammers, Kiya Kramer; great-grandchildren, Emm Spencer, Nalaya, Oliver, Noah and Nicolas Lammers; step children, Daren Fourtner, Texas; Dana Fourtner, Texas; Danny Fourtner, North Platte; Sherri Higgins, South Dakota; Brian Fourtner, Sutherland; and Brenda Fourtner, North Platte; several step grandchildren and step greagrandchildren; sisters, Peggy Wedel (Paul), Iowa; Charlotte Jones (Dave) Oregon; Jance Snook, Hartington; and Deann Beig (Sue Koch), Tenness and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Lammers; parent Robert “Bob” and Vesta Beig; brothers, Danny Hourigan and Robert Bei and brother-in-law, Leonard Snook.
