Linda Morris LAUREL — Linda Sue Morris, 74, Laurel, died May 25, 2023, at her residence. No local services will be held at this time. Her cremated remains will be buried with her parents in Lansing, Mich., with a date to yet be determined. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Laurel. Linda Morris was born Linda Dove in Lansing, Mich., May 29, 1948, to John and Gladys Dove. Her father, John, worked for Oldsmobile on the assembly line at the Fisher Body plant. She had two older brothers, Eugene, who worked as a printer for San Bernardino County, Calif., and Jack, who worked in heating and air conditioning for Kaiser Aluminum, Fontana, Calif. Linda later attended Lansing Community College, becoming a Registered Nurse, a profession in which she would serve for the next 20+ years, primarily in obstetrics, frequently delivering babies due to the doctors not arriving in time.

Linda lived in Michigan; Redlands, Calif.; Hemet, Calif.; and Lincoln, finally settling in Northeast Nebraska in the early 1990s. Linda ran a greenhouse on a small eight-acre farm outside of Laurel for a few years known as Cedar Knoll Farms, growing herbs and heirloom tomatoes. Eventually, Linda moved to Laurel some 15+ years ago. Though her family tried several times to convince her to move closer to them, Linda always felt Laurel was her home.

Linda is survived by her son, Scott Thorland, Spokane, Wash.; her grandson, Michael Cook, San Diego, Calif.; and her granddaughter, Aimie Thorland, Spokane, Wash.
