Life Chain events set for Oct. 1 along Highway 12

Posted in:

CROFTON — The 2023 Life Chain for this area of Nebraska will extend from St. Rose of Lima parish, Crofton, to the extreme eastern boundaries to Holy Family parish, near Bow Valley on Highway 12.

The Life Chains are set for Oct. 1, with back-to-back times. · St. Rose, Crofton, will pray on the parish grounds along Hwy 12 from 3-4 p.m.; · Holy Family of Cedar County will stand in prayer north of Bow Valley also on Hwy 12, one and one half miles east of Hwy 57, from -4 p.m.

Life Chain is a peaceful, prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing in remembrance of at least 65 million lives lost to abortion, praying for our nation, for people in crisis situations and for a permanent end to abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children, hurts women and men, and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death.

Last year, about 50 Life Chains were held in Nebraska alone with over 1,530 cities and towns holding prayer services in the United States all on the same day.

The two Respect Life groups of Our Catholic Family of Parishes are inviting the general public as well as friends, neighbors and fellow parishioners to stand with thousands of Pro-Lifers throughout the United States all on the same day.

The parishes included in the grouping are: St. Rose of Lima, Crofton; Holy Family (Ss. Peter and Paul, Bow Valley; Immaculate Conception, St. Helena; Sacred Heart, Wynot); All Saints,(St. Boniface, Menominee, St. Joseph, Constance, St. John the Baptist, Fordyce).

The Chain, held in conjunction with Respect Life Month, will be held rain or shine and signs will be provided at the two sites. Planners for the event are asking participants to bring the entire family. Water, lawn chairs, umbrellas and strollers are welcome.
