LCC School District patrons to vote on bond issue

Public meeting will give area residents more specifics about school plan

LAUREL — Area residents will get a chance in the upcoming days to learn more about a proposed bond issue for school facilities proposed by the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School Board 

The issue will be decided Nov. 3 when  Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School District patrons can vote on a ballot question seeking to approve a school bond to provide for additions, renovations and improvements to existing facilities of the District, together with related site improvements, as well as to provide for the necessary equipment and furniture for such facilities.

Six separate meetings about the bond issue are planned around the community in October. 

The first meeting is slated for Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Dixon Community Building from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The next meeting is set for Monday Oct. 12 at the Coleridge Community Building. This session is set to run from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

This issue will be the main topic of conversation at the Laurel Lion’s Club meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13, as well. That meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Laurel Learning Center. Tours of the Laurel facility will also be available at that time.

The Coleridge Community Club meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14 will also have the issue on the agenda. That meeting will be held at Rodeo’s in Coleridge and is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Laurel Learning Center will also host meetings on Oct. 17 and Oct. 23. One meeting is slated for Oct. 17, while three meeting times have been made available on Oct. 23.
