LCC pours on the gas against Wynot

The Wynot Blue Devils travelled to Laurel to take on the Bears in their final regular season game on Friday night. This year’s reigning Lewis and Clark Conference champs had little trouble with the struggling Blue Devils as they rolled to a big 75-38 win. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge would out-rebound the Blue Devils 37-23, hit 8 three pointers and go 9 for 11 from the free throw line as they dominated every aspect of the game on their way to their 20th win of the season.

The Bears got a huge double double out of Noah Schutte who poured in 38 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Evan Haisch hit 4 three pointers and finished in double figures with 14 points.

Wynot got 16 points from Anthony Haberman and 10 points from Peyton Wieseler to lead them on offense. Trystan Heimes lead his team in rebounding with eight boards and Garrett Lange finished with seven caroms.

In the opening quarter Wynot got a pair of three pointers from Peyton Wieseler and a couple of baskets by Jack Kuchta. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got their offense in high gear early as they got 11 points from Noah Schutte and a pair of treys by Evan Haisch to earn the 23-10 early lead.

Wynot showed some signs of fire in the second quarter as they got a pair of long threes and 8 points from Anthony Haberman and a couple of putbacks inside off of offensive rebounds by Garrett Lange. The Blue Devils however could not gain any ground on the Bears as Schutte hit for another 10 points and Evan Haisch hit his third trey of the game and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge increased their lead with the 17-14 run to 40-24 at halftime.

The Blue Devils would struggle on the offensive end after halftime as they only got five points all by Anthony Haberman in the third quarter. The Bears got 9 more points by Noah Schutte and a 4th three pointer from Evan Haisch to increase their lead to 56-29 going into the final quarter of play.

In the fourth the Bears continued to pour it on as Noah Schutte dropped in eight more points and Evan Schmitt and Landon Boysen both hit three pointers for the home team. Wynot got a fourth trey by Anthony Haberman and buckets by Jack Kuchta and Garrett Lange as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge earned the 75-38 win.
