Man reports that the water tower north of Hartington has a stream of water coming from it. Dispatcher calls Natural Resources District and county commissioner.

Man calls and says, “I’m firing Larry.” Rescue unit called to Magnet residence for woman with medical issue, transported to Yankton, S.D., hospital.

Woman reports reckless driver “all over road” near Laurel.

Jan. 2: Woman calls to ask if family member has any active warrants.

Burn permit issued for Reggie Hochstein.

Man calls to request welfare check on ex and his daughter, supposed to show up to celebrate Christmas the day before but can’t contact them. Man alleges that the woman is on drugs. A protection order is in place between the two. Officer able to locate the woman and child and find they are safe. Man is advised and man asks where they are. When dispatcher won’t tell him the woman’s location, man says, “Well, I have a right to see my kid.” Dixon County dispatcher calls and relays information that the man has been calling their office as well.

Burglar alarm sounds at Laurel True Value, false alarm.

Jan. 3: Man reports getting stuck on rural road to Menominee. Dispatcher said she will check with county plow crew to see if they can get that way.

Officer reports poor visibility with road conditions.

Nebraska Department of Transportation reports a stranded motorists and semi on Highway 81 near Fordyce.

Man reports semi stuck but not blocking highway, requests deputies for traffic control to pull him out.

Yankton Police relay information about a rescue unit heading into the county to confirm a deceased person. Dispatcher calls county commissioner for assistance with clearing roadway for ambulance.

Man from previous day’s calls asks for another welfare check on daughter. “I’m going to call every day to check on my daughter because of the protection order.” Dispatcher advises that she would let an officer know and the caller hung up.

Caller asks about getting a protection order on someone in Texas that keeps harassing him by phone.

911 call comes in and someone speaks frantically in Spanish and hangs up, call pinpointed to Knox County and information relayed. Upon call back, a child answers the phone but then hangs up. The next time the dispatcher calls, a woman answers and said children got a hold of the phone. Officers respond and find everything is OK.

Man who called for the welfare check on his daughter calls again and asks for the number to the Department of Health and Human Services. “It’s so rude you didn’t send someone out to do a welfare check,” he said. Child Protective Services called and request information.

Woman calls to report that she is having someone come over to pull out her vehicle. The incoming vehicle is very loud and she wants it known in case the neighbors call the sheriff’s office.

Jan. 4: Semi-truck driver calls to report that his vehicle stalled in the middle of the construction bridge between Randolph and Belden. Dispatcher calls for a towing company. Nebraska Department of Roads notified. The semi had been cleared from the bridge in about an hour.

Woman asks for a welfare check, officer advises may not be able to reach residence due to weather.

Woman reported she was trying to get another vehicle towed when her own vehicle started on fire, Randolph Fire responds.

Vehicle reported by roadside assistance as being stuck on rural county road. County commissioner notified.

Man called to get woman’s address. Dispatcher advised not able to give it to him due to protection order in place but could give it to his lawyer.

Jan. 7: Vehicle alert received of a crash south of 882 Road, unable to contact driver. Fireman responds to scene and finds vehicle hit utility pole, no one around but sees tracks of someone walking. Driver located. Man calls in and reports he slid on the ice and his vehicle hit the pole.
