911 call made by mistake. Caller reports people still lighting fireworks in Coleridge.

Rescue unit called to Hartington residence for man with medical issue, transported to Yankton, S.D., hospital.

Caller reports suspicious person. Coleridge man reports dog came onto property and attacked his chickens. Dispatch told him to contact the village office. “We took a picture of the dog and let it go. If it kills something else or attacks someone, it is on your head,” man said.

July 9: Three 911 calls made by mistake.

Knox County relays information about a reckless driver in the area, Nebraska State Patrol and Pierce County notified.

Rescue unit called to Randolph residence for woman with medical issue.

Woman reports man at Hartington business who is loitering and harassing customers. A short time later, man had left property.

Dixon County requests information. Caller reports suspicious person hitchhiking on Highway 12.

Woman reports suspicious person in Hartington, drinking from an open alcohol container, and rolling and laying on the ground.

National Weather Service puts Cedar County in a severe thunderstorm watch. About 15 minutes later, a severe thunderstorm warning is issued for the northwest portion of the county.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Randolph area. Randolph Rescue reports trees and power lines down on Highway 20 west of McLean, fire in the grove of trees, Pierce County notified.

Coleridge Dump reported on fire. Clay County, S.D., calls about a warrant.

Woman calls about son-in-law from Coleridge who was recently arrested and provides additional information and allegations. She’s advised to contact the Health and Human Services abuse hotline.

Officer responds to a Laurel parking complaint.

Arrangements made to provide an inmate with a haircut.

Burn permit issued for Myron Tramp. Officer investigates vehicle on side of highway missing a front tire.

Man reports tree hit house and on a power line.

Nebraska Department of Transportation reports a vehicle barely off highway east of Bow Valley, dispatch advises vehicle ran out of gas and owner is working on getting it moved.

Woman reports a group of women and children at Lake Yankton beach with dog in kennel. “It’s so hot out today I just don’t think it’s safe.” Park ranger responds and determines they aren’t breaking any laws and are actually obeying the rules which state animals have to be penned in recreation areas. Reporting woman unsatisfied with response. “I’m gonna keep calling until someone does something because if they don’t, I will.”

Alarm sounds at Cedar Security Bank, false alarm.

Man reports his vehicle broke down and will have it moved the next day.

July 13: 911 call comes in with a woman reporting that someone was sleeping in the sunroom of her Laurel home. Woman reports she got up to take the dog outside and a man stood up and ran out the door.

Man reports suspicious vehicle west of Fordyce.

Caller requests vehicle inspection. Man calls and asks for the county court phone number, saying “I’m thinking about running to Mexico because my attorney gave me some bad news.” Dispatcher advises caller not to do that and get something worked out with the court. About an hour later, man calls back to ask if the sheriff would let him detox for a few days and get clean.

“I don’t think that’s a possibility. You weren’t the nicest to us the last time you were here,” dispatch said.

July 14: Officers respond to an assault in Hartington.

Dixon County calls regarding a verbal argument earlier in Concord, subject may be in Laurel. About 20 minutes later, dispatcher calls back to say individual was located in Norfolk.

Employer requests a welfare check on a Coleridge employee that they haven’t been in contact with.

Dixon County relays an EMS call for Laurel Rescue to Dixon residence for man with medical issue, transported to Wayne hospital.

Woman calls to get a 911 address on a storage building in Obert.

Officers conduct traffic enforcement and give citation for speeding and warning for stop sign violation in separate incidents.

Officers called in to help Nebraska State Patrol, help with subject on the run, woman eventually caught and arrested with S.D. warrants.

Caller reports suspicious vehicle and driver hanging around his property. Caller asked man what he was doing and the man stated he was getting flies out of his vehicle and then drove toward Laurel.

Yankton Police relay information about an individual with a mental health hold, pastor talking to him over the phone at business, request deputy backup.

911 call made by mistake. Officers respond to parking complaint. Nebraska State Patrol requests assistance from deputy in Randolph. About 10 minutes later, a motorist calls in to say he’s been pulled over and was asked to step out of his vehicle. Dispatch advises it’s the Randolph cop and a deputy is also enroute.

Caller reports going to pick up belongings and valuables and not wanting a confrontation.

July 15: Caller asks why a helicopter is flying near Menominee. Dispatcher advises she is unaware of any incidents.

Yankton Police relay information about a stolen vehicle that is now in a ditch along Highway 81 and 876 Road. A short time later, Yankton said an individual got in the vehicle and is now southbound on Highway 81 most likely into Pierce County, Nebraska State Patrol and Pierce County notified. Pierce County had vehicle stopped.

Woman calls about kids shooting off fireworks, notifies the village board, and verbal warning given for disturbing the peace.

July 16: 911 call comes in to a report of an assault at the Hartington campground.

July 17: Woman reports suspicious people asking around for work and now unloading stuff onto neighbor’s lawn in Fordyce even though she said she didn’t need any work done. The resident yelled at the men and they left. Deputy able to pull vehicle over.
