Lady Devils pressure is too much for the Bulldogs

WYNOT — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils picked up another conference win on Saturday night when they rolled to a 61-33 win over the Creighton Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Blue Devils showed little signs of any rush after they got back into action after a long weather interruption. Wynot would dominate the first half building a 43-13 lead as they improved their season record to 9-2 with the win. Creighton fell to 4-8 with the loss.

Wynot got the outside shooting of Kinslee Heimes who hit a trio of three pointers on her way to a game high 17 points. Kenna Oligmueller dominated the paint to finish with 13 points. Kayla Pinkelman and Myrah Sudbeck each contributed eight points to the win.

Creighton was led by Olivia Kuhlman and Jessica Hoffman with seven points each.

Wynot came out hot in the first quarter as they got a quick six points each from Myrah Sudbeck and Kenna Oligmueller along with a pair of treys by Kinslee Heimes. Creighton got a three pointer from Jessica Hoffman and three free throws by Brooke Fanta as the Lady Bulldogs were in a hole trailing 27-8 after one period.

It was more of the same in the second quarter as Wynot went on a 16-5 run to increase their lead to 43 -13 at halftime.

Wynot put up a balanced attack lead by 5 more points from Kinslee Heimes and a basket plus one each by Kayla Pinkelman and Kenna Oligmueller. Creighton got a trey by Carley Huiopus and a conventional bucket by Jordy Ebel.

Wynot would back off the full court pressure in the third quarter and Creighton’s offense showed some signs of life.

Olivia Kuhlman hit a trey and Jessica Hoffman had a pair of buckets inside for the Lady Bulldogs.

Wynot maintained the comfortable lead helped by a three pointer by Annika Heimes and buckets by Allison Wieseler and Kenna Oligmueller.

Wynot maintained a 51-24 margin going into the final period.

In the fourth quarter Wynot got another three pointer by Annika Heimes and a bucket plus one by Kayla Pinkelman.

Creighton got balanced scoring with a basket each from Carley Huiogens, Olivia Kuhllman, Mikayla Mitchell, and Jordy Ebel but this one was never in doubt as Wynot earned the 61-33 win.
