Lady Blue Devils race past Bloomfield in make-up game
Wynot — In a basketball game that was rescheduled from an earlier date due to the virus Wynot’s Lady Blue Devils hosted the Bloomfield Queen Bees Dec. 21.
This was a very fast paced game with both teams wanting to run and gun. Wynot would be better at it as they used big first and third quarter runs to fly by the Bees by a final of 62-39.
Wynot’s Karley Heimes worked the paint area for a game high 17 points and Emersyn Sudbeck hit a pair of 3-pointers on her way to nine points to lead the Lady Devils in a very balanced attack.
Bloomfield was led by Alexander Eisenhower with 15 points, and Brynn Bargman drained a pair of threes to help out with her eight-point effort.
Led by seven points from Karley Heimes and six points by Autumn Lawson, Wynot raced to a 20-9 first-quarter advantage. Alexander Eisenhower scored five points in the period to lead the Queen Bees.
The Lady Blue Devils had some trouble hitting their threes in the second quarter, but Karley Heimes worked the low block area for six points as Wynot maintained a 30-18 halftime lead. Brynn Bargman led Bloomfield with her three points.
Wynot would pull away in the third quarter. Three-pointers by Emersyn and Edyn Sudbeck and four points each from Kendra Pinkelman and Karley Heimes fueled the 18-9 run to put the Lady Devils up 48-27 going into the final quarter.
Brynn Bargman had a pair of fieldgoals to lead the Bees. Bloomfield’s bench gave them a spark in the fourth quarter as Madie Ziegler hit for seven points and Alexancer Eisenhower added five points to the Bees’ totals.
