Posted in:

HUMPHREY— The top-rated and undefeated Humphrey St. Francis Lady Flyers earned a big 77-41 win over Hartington-Newcatle last week.

St. Francis led 43-28 at halftime then allowed just six in the third and fourth quarter.

Abbe Morten led the Wildcat offense with 14 points, while Kaeden Jueden chipped in with 13. Alivia Morten also got in on the scoring, hitting for nine points. Keanna Korth and Delaney Sudbeck also hit baskets in the contest.

Four different Flyers scored in double digits led by Allison Weidner, who put together a double-double, with 28 points and 13 assists.

She was joined by Alissa Kosch with 16 and Kaylee Stricklin and Lauren Pfeifer with 10 each. Pfeifer and Caitlin Jarosz also both had eight rebounds.

HNS coach Josh Morten said he was happy with the way his team played in the first half.

“We played with them for the most part in the first half,” he said. “Then they just over powered us and we got tired.”

Morten is very impressed with the Flyers Allison Weidner.

“They have the best player in the area in Weidner. She is an amazing player and did it all for them,” he said. “She makes all of her players on the floor better.”
