Kruse takes first place in all around to start season

MITCHELL, S.D. —MITCHELL — Local gymnasts, Grace Kruse, 12, Hartington, and Madyson Ross, 10, Coleridge, began their 2021 gymnastics season Jan. 2 with their first competition in Mitchell, S.D . The gymnasts competed in their division Xcel Silver, in all four events, including beam, bars, floor, and vault. Gymnasts can place in each of the individual events as well as receive an all-around score.

Kruse received first place in all-around, and Ross placed tenth.

Grace is the daughter of Tim and Holly Kruse, Hartington; and the granddaughter of Melvin and Jane Kruse, Hartington, and Les and Jolene Jessen, Bloomfield.

Madyson is the daughter of Ruben and Molly Ross, Coleridge; and the granddaughter of Keith and Kathy Lubberstedt, Coleridge; Jane and Robert Gould, Loveland, Colo.; Dean and Tracy McCormick, Omaha; and Kenny and Vicki Ross, Sweetwater, Texas.
