Kenneth Leischner

COLUMBUS — Kenneth Leischner, Columbus, died Jan. 11, 2023, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Funeral services were Jan. 16 at the Federated Church, Columbus. Visitation was Sunday at the McKown Funeral Home.

Interment was in the Columbus Cemetery.

Kenneth was born March 1, 1949, in Parkston, S.D., to Erwin and Lucin- da (DeClue) Leischner. He grew up in Parkston and graduated high school in 1967. He attended Yankton College and the University of South Dakota, Vermillion. He married Kathy Juhnke July 24, 1970. They lived in Sioux Falls and Sandstone, Minn., before moving to Columbus in 1989. He served as the Senior Pastor at Federated

Church and later as an interim pastor at many churches throughout the country.

Kenn was an avid Husker fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Kathy Leischner; mother, Lucinda Leischner, Newman; son, Grant (Mykin) Leischner; daughter, Jessica (Matthew) McCulley; daughter, Abbie (Jacob) Oran; six grandchildren, Meadow, Brock, Beckett, Julian, Dominic and Elliott; and brothers, Ger- ry (Jan) Leischner and Greg (Amanda) Leischner He was preceded in death by his father, Erwin.
