MAGNET — A Celebration of Life for Kenneth Albrecht, 91, Magnet, will be Aug. 31, at the Magnet Community Center.

Brockhaus Funeral Home, Wausa, is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth died August 23, 2019, at Arbor Care Center, Hartington.

Kenneth L. Albrecht was born Jan. 9, 1928, to Arthur and Wilma (Beckman) Albrecht. He lived various places, but spent most of his life in Cedar County. Over the years, Kenneth had a variety of jobs breaking horses, farming, trucking, working in a packing house, hanging dry wall, hauling hay and operating heavy equipment. In 1984, he and his wife, Liz, moved back home to Magnet and bought the Magnet Tavern from where he retired in 1992.

Kenneth loved to golf, play cards, sing, and play the guitar and accordion.

He had five children with Lorraine (Swanson) Albrecht Wheeler. They are Jerry Albrecht, Kenneth J. Albrecht, Connie S. (Albrecht) Petersen, Pamela K. (Albrecht) Smith, and Donald E. Albrecht, and two stepdaughters, Tracy Hess and Laura (deceased).

Kenny is survived by his children, Jerry and Chong Albrecht, Port Orchard, Wash.; Connie and Tom Petersen, Crofton; Pam and Ken Smith, Omaha; and Don and Jane Albrecht, Fairhaven, Mass.; stepdaughter, Tracy and Tim Hess, Estes Park, Colo.; two brothers, Dale and Dean Albrecht; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Lorraine Swanson Albrecht Wheeler and Elizibeth Hartong Albrecht; son, Kenneth J. Albrecht; step daughter, Laura; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Harold Meier; sisters-in-law, Mary-Ann Albrecht and MaryRae Albrecht; a granddaughter; and great-granddaughter.
