Kathleen Ann Haug was born Aug. 6, 1948, in Yankton, S.D., to Gilbert and Marie (Schroeder) Hochstein. She grew up on her family farm near Hartington. On July 31, 1972 she married the love of her life, Robert Haug, July 31, 1972. They had three sons Corey, Kevin and Kyle. Kathleen worked side by side with Robert in many business ventures throughout her life before retiring in 2010. Kathleen loved spending time with Robert, “her boys,” her daughters-in-law, Leah and Wendi, and her grandchildren. She had unconditional love for her family. Kathleen’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. Grandma’s house was always open and a second home to her grandchildren, with a basement fully stocked with toys and treasures. She was very excited about becoming a great-grandmother this November, to her little June Bug.

Kathleen was very mischievous, stubborn, a bit of a smart ass and never mixed words. She told it how she saw it and didn’t hide her feelings She was fiercely loyal and never backed down from a challenge. These traits stayed strong and helped her with her battle with Alzheimer’s for many years.

Kathleen held a very strong Christian faith and knew she would be in heaven when her time came.
