Joyce M. Clarkson

ARLINGTON — Joyce M. Clarkson, 85, Arlington, died July 6, 2020, at Dunklau Gardens, Fremont. Funeral services were July 10 at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. The service was livestreamed at www.mosermemorialchapels.com. Controlled visitation with health measures being followed was July 9 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home, Arlington.

Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Joyce was born April 3, 1935, in Wayne, to Eric and Vernice (Erwin) Nelson. She was a 1952 graduate of Concord High School. She married her high school sweetheart, LaVerneClarkson, May 12, 1954, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She resided in Pilger and Wausa, for several years, settling in Arlington in 1980.

Joyce was a member of Arlington Community Church. She worked at Kent’s Flowers, Arlington and Fremont, and she took pride in taking care of the prize-winning violets.

She is survived by her sons, Kerry (Kathy) Clarkson, Wausa; Darrin (Julie) Clarkson, Scottsbluff; daughters, Deb (Doug) Cunningham, Wausa; Tammi (Loren) Loberg, Norfolk; brothers, James (Doris) Nelson, Laurel; Dean (Suzanne) Nelson, Green Valley, Ariz.; sisters, Donna (Cliff) Stalling, Norfolk; Sharon (Fred) Herrmann, West Point; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and husband, LaVerne.
