HARTINGTON — Two Hartington-Newcastle speech competitors will be returning to State Competition Friday.
Senior Alexa Lammers and sophomore Sam Harms have both competed at State before, Lammers in 2016 and Harms in 2017, and this year they will get to compete in multiple events.
Lammers placed fourth in the Informative Speaking category as a sophomore, and now the senior returns to compete in both Informative and Poetry.
“It means a lot just because I know that all of this hard work has paid off, and that I can kind of help the team out and feel accomplished in that way too,” said Lammers. “It’s just been really great.”
