Hartington-Newcastle plans to head to the beach
HARTINGTON — Hartington-Newcastle School is celebrating Homecoming 2020 this week and they’re going to head to the beach.
Pretending you are at a luau is the idea behind Tiki Tuesday, when students are asked to wear their favorite Hawaiian attire or be a tacky looking tourist.
On Wavy Wednesday the whole school will take a trip to the beach.
The “Sea” theme continues Thursday by dressing as a pirate on Thief Thursday.
Purple and White is the traditional theme of the Friday of Homecoming week, when the students and community show their school spirit.
There will be a pep rally Friday, and coronation at 2 p.m., with only HNS students, staff and parents and grandparents of the Homecoming candidates in attendance.
Senior candidates for Homecoming King and Queen are: John Lauer, Isaac Bruning, Kobe Heitman and Shawn Pinkelman; and Keeley Wiepen, Makenna Clarkson, Kayden Jueden and Delayne Sudbeck.
Junior Royalty are: Shay Dickes, Reece Morten, Maya Knutson and Caroline Nelson.
Representing the Sophomores in the Royal Court are Tommy Folkers, Turner Dendinger, Alivia Morten and Dalie Paulsen. Freshman Royalty includes Riley Sudbeck, Dayton Sudbeck, Mani Lange and Lauren Howell.
