Hartington Newcastle FFA students participate in District contest

NORFOLK — District FFA Career Development Events (CDE) took place Feb. 27 at Northeast Community College, Norfolk. The Hartington Newcastle FFA Chapter was represented by 33 members competing in 13 events. They were competing against over 650 other FFA members from three districts.

Hartington Newcastle FFA members have been preparing for districts for the last few weeks by putting in extra time before and after school, in order to be prepared for the contests.

Results for the CDE contests are the following; Agricultural Sales team received third place, members included Jaron Kleinschmit, Ben Loecker, Cole Noecker and Mason Schaefer. Agricultural Mechanics team members are Derek Heimes, Brayden Kathol, Jaron Kleinschmit, and Bode Noecker, they received third place. Agriscience team received seventh place, members included Grace Biltoft, Jordyn Steffen, Kendra Loecker, Molly Hochstein, Jenna Lammers and Zoe Ptak. Logan Buschkamp, Nash Albers, Isaak Wiebelhaus, and Sara Burbach were members of the Agronomy team taking fifth place. Envirothan team took second place, members included Alison Karnes, Nathan Potts, Jayda Bernecker, Claudia Stevens, and Mackenzie Sudbeck.
