AURORA — Hartington-Newcastle FFA Officer team attended the Chapter Officer Leadership Training May 20-22, at The Leadership Center in Aurora.

COLT is sponsored by the Nebraska FFA State Officers to teach and train chapter officers from FFA chapters throughout Nebraska. This year’s attendees from the Hartington-Newcastle chapter were Chase Lammers (President), Jayda Bernecker (Vice-President), Freedom Rodgers (Secretary), Nathan Potts (Treasurer), Sara Burbach (Reporter), Bode Noecker (Sentinel), Mackenzie Sudbeck (Parliamentarian), and Kerrigan Hoesing (Historian). The officer team was led by their advisor, Emma Lammers. Hartington-Newcastle attended the fourth session of the conference along with 20 other Nebraska FFA chapters.

Over the course of three days, students were taught the roles and responsibilities of their specific office, learned teamwork and leadership skills, and participated in various group activities. The students broke out into sessions with fellow FFA members holding the same office to learn their duties, while in the sessions the officers worked with a specific state officer about what to respect and how to carry out their positions.
